Drop a Student from a Course
To drop a student from a course
You can start:
- From the Take Attendance page, by clicking the "Course Roster" at the top of the page; or
- Any page that displays the Course Roster icon (Active Courses, All Courses, Course Admin.)
On the Course Roster page, a list of students is shown, along with their enrollment status. Choose a new enrollment status for the student/s in question. When you're done, make sure to click "Save" at the top or bottom of the screen.
The student's future attendance records' status will be changed to "Dropped / Not Returning" and the student will no longer appear on attendance records or the roster. Your systems administrator can change this so that dropped students do appear on the course roster if your organization prefers.
RollCall never automatically changes data in the past. If your student dropped out several sessions ago, but you're just now dropping them from the entire class, you will need to manually change their attendance status for past sessions (simply take attendance like normal, and change that one student's status.) We do this so that you can trust the integrity of your data for reporting, and because every organization has different processes and rules about dropping out, absences, and how those count for reporting purposes.
